Woods Design House can provide a complete design plan for your custom-built home. We can collaborate with one of our preferred architects or yours. This begins with the Initial Design Consultation where we will combine the information from that meeting with your personal design style and our expertise, to curate a custom design and everything you need to begin your project.
The beauty of this design service is that we can combine the blueprint design phase with the interior design phase, cutting down on the overall design time significantly, enabling you to begin collecting bids from your preferred builder or one of our preferred builders to get the process rolling sooner. Then, we'll guide you through the entire design process to construction completion. Every design and construction project requires hundreds of details and selections. The following is included in your personalized design plan:
STEP 1: INITIAL DESIGN CONSULTATION
We will sit down together to discuss your overall project and assess your needs and wants, discuss budget and timeline, create the scope of work to be completed, and ask many questions to gather your design style, color preferences, and materials that will make your home better suited to the needs of everyone residing within.
STEP 2: CREATION OF FLOOR PLAN
During this step, we will host collaborative online meetings with you and the architect to review your initially designed floor plans and provide helpful thought and unique details to each space of your home.
STEP 3: CAD (COMPUTER AIDED DRAFTING)
The CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) files are shared and our design team creates the cabinet layouts, adds any architectural millwork designs including feature walls and ceilings, adds notes for the electrical plans, and provides 2D black and white scaled construction renders to view and approve.
STEP 4: SPECIFICATION OF FINISHES
This is where we will specify the finishes and fixtures. Specification of finishes includes selections like interior and exterior finishes, paints, stain colors, flooring, wall designs, countertops, tiles, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, accessories, cabinet hardware, and window treatments. We then take all of these selections and load them into the CAD files to create beautiful, top-quality visuals to help our clients see the design vision.
STEP 5: PRESENTATION
Once all of your designs are curated to our standard, we will schedule a meeting with you to formally present your cohesive design. At the presentation, you can expect to review the architects plans, the electrical layout, 2D black and white elevations, 2D colorized elevations, and 3D colorized renders. Along with this, all of your finishes will be displayed on a perfectly organized + clean color board. We believe this service is truly essential before beginning any construction project and allows you to visualize the complete function and style of the space. Please note: larger homes will be broken down into sections for design curation and presentation.
STEP 6:REFINEMENTS
After your design presentation, we collaborate with you to ensure you see yourself + your personal style in the designs. When necessary, are made and design documents are finalized.
The Initial Design Consultation averages 2-3 hours, and begins at $550+ depending on the size and scope of the project.
For New Home Construction, ongoing design fees typically begin at $5 per conditioned square foot, with final pricing determined by the size, scope, and level of design implementation needed. This service includes design implementation support complete with job site visits.
